According to the clarifications provided by the Ministry of Infrastructure of the Republic of Poland on November 28, 2024, regarding the transit of vehicles through the territory of the Republic of Poland to third countries (including Ukraine!!!), all vehicles weighing over 3.5 tons must be registered in the Polish RMPD system (Rejestr Międzynarodowych Przewozów Drogowych). You can find more information here:
https://www.gov.pl/web/gitd/sent .
For the transit of vehicles (including buses, ambulances, specialized equipment, and any other vehicles weighing over 3.5 tons) without registration in the RMPD system, Polish regulatory authorities impose a fine of 13,500 PLN (12,000 PLN on the transport company performing the transportation and 1,500 PLN on the driver). This amounts to approximately $3,375 USD per vehicle.
This fine also applies to vehicles transferred to the Ukrainian side as humanitarian aid and to vehicles newly purchased or donated for the needs of the Ukrainian side being transported for their first registration in Ukraine.
To avoid penalties, please take this information into account. We strongly recommend mandatory registration in the RMPD system before beginning any transit through the territory of the Republic of Poland with vehicles.
