Ambassador of Ukraine to Finland, Olga Dibrova, welcomed the audience of the documentary film Nice Ladies by the talented Ukrainian director Mariia Ponomariova. The screening took place in
#Helsinki in honor of Human Rights Day.
Originally, it was meant to be a different story—about beautiful and vibrant Ukrainian women breaking stereotypes commonly associated with cheerleading teams. These women, aged 50 and above, make a stunning impression at international championships. However, their lives, like the lives of all Ukrainians, were instantly changed on February 24, 2022. Russia seeks to destroy everything in its path, but the Kharkiv cheerleading team Nice Ladies not only remains beautiful and vibrant but also grows exceptionally strong—for their families, for Ukraine, and for themselves.
The screening was made possible thanks to the Ambassador of the Netherlands to Finland, Govert Jan Bijl de Vroe, the Embassy of the Netherlands in Finland, the United Nations Association of Finland, and the Human Rights Centre Finland.
