Support for Ukraine is the number one issue for all of Europe - the main leitmotif of the seminar "The Future of Europe – what issues at stake and priorities for the Baltic Sea Region in this new EU mandate period?", which took place on September 11 in the city of Lahti.
In their speeches at the opening of the seminar, Ambassador of Ukraine to Finland, Olga Dibrova, and Minister for European Affairs and Ownership Steering, Joakim Strand, emphasized the critical importance of promptly providing all necessary military aid to Ukraine and rapidly increasing investments in military production in Ukraine to ensure its victory, mobilization of urgent practical assistance to Ukraine in the energy sphere, as well as further strengthening of Russia's economic isolation, in particular by blocking the export of Russian oil by the "shadow" tanker fleet.
During the discussion, a wide range of issues related to Ukraine's movement towards membership in the European Union, development of multi-level cooperation between EU countries and Ukraine in the fields of energy security and green transition, innovation and digital transformation, interregional cooperation, as well as Ukraine's important role in ensuring international food security were discussed.
Ambassador of Ukraine separately thanked the Baltic Sea countries for their leading role in supporting broad international solidarity with Ukraine, comprehensive support for Ukraine from the EU, as well as comprehensive assistance to Ukraine from the North Atlantic Alliance.
