As part of the development of Ukrainian-Finnish regional cooperation, the Ambassador of Ukraine to Finland, Olga Dibrova, held an online meeting with the Deputy Mayor of Kherson Vitaliy Bielobrov, and the Mayor of Vaasa, Tomas Häyry.
During the meeting, they discussed:
the situation in Kherson, which escalated as a result of the russian military, blowing up the Kakhovka HPP dam, destroying one of the largest waterreservoirs in Ukraine;
urgent needs of Kherson for humanitarian aid;
possible areas of cooperation between Kherson and Vaasa in the future.
Such cooperation not only allows for the consolidation of aid to Ukrainian cities affected by the full-scale invasion of the russian federation in Ukraine, to effectively and promptly send targeted aid to them but is also aimed at the future - the establishment of mutually beneficial economic ties and cultural exchanges, the exchange of experience in the context of decentralization in Ukraine and European integration of our country, implementation of reconstruction projects.
Everyone can join in helping Ukrainian rescuers overcome the consequences of the environmental disaster, which was caused by russian terrorists who blew up the Kakhovka HPP dam.
