Ambassador of Ukraine to Finland Olga Dibrova held working meetings with the regional mayor of North Karelia Markus Hirvonen, the mayor of the Finnish city of Joensuu Jere Penttilä, the head of the Executive Committee of Joensuu Jere Nuutinen and representatives of the city council
On the agenda:

development of Ukrainian-Finnish regional cooperation;

humanitarian aid needs of Ukraine;

the situation on the Finnish-russian border;
-
economic cooperation, investments and reconstruction of Ukraine;
-
assistance to Ukrainians who received temporary protection in Finland and live in Joensuu and North Karelia;
-
humanitarian initiatives for Ukraine.
The Finnish side expressed a special interest in the development of regional cooperation between the countries and asked for assistance in finding partners for the city of Joensuu and the region of North Karelia in Ukraine. As a result, the main directions of such cooperation were discussed, including the woodworking and construction industry, education, investments, the goals of cooperation and possible candidacies of partners from the Ukrainian side were outlined.
Ambassador Olga Dibrova thanked the representatives of the region and the municipality for the warm meeting, readiness to cooperate with Ukraine even during the full-scale invasion of russia, and the support they continuously provided and provide to our state.
