On March 17, 2011 the event dedicated to the 140th Anniversary of the famous Ukrainian writer Lesya Ukrainka as well as the annual Shevchenko’ Days was held at the Embassy of Ukraine in Finland.

The event was an opportunity to meet with the Ukrainian community and to exchange views on further cooperation between the Association of Ukrainian in Finland and the Ukrainian Embassy.

Ambassador of Ukraine A. Deshchytsia briefed those present on the political and socio-economic situation in Ukraine and informed on the further events which are planning to be held by the Embassy during the year.

Cultural part of the event included reading poetry, video presentation about the life and work of Lesya Ukrainka and demonstration of the feature film based on Ukrainka’s drama  «Forest Song. Nymph»  created by the famous Ukrainian director Yrii Illienko.
