On March 30, 2011 the Ukrainian - Finnish political consultations took place in Helsinki.
Director of Policy and Security Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Olexander Aleksandrovych and Political Director of Foreign Ministry of Finland Teemu Tanner exchanged views on a wide range of bilateral cooperation, European integration, cooperation within international organization, on energy security, regional and global agenda.
In the context of preparation for events dedicated to the 25 anniversary of the Chernobyl accident the Finnish side informed about the decision of the Government of Finland to grant 3,1 million euro for supporting Chernobyl projects.
The parties also agreed to continue political consultations on regional and global issues.
In the framework of the consultations Mr. O.Aleksandrovych met with Deputy State Secretary of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland J. Laayava and Director General for Russia, Eastern Europe and Central Asia N. Vaskunlahti.
