On April 1, 2011 the Ambassador of Ukraine in Finland A. Deshchytsia met with the President of the Academy of Finland Professor Markku Mattila.

The Ukrainian side was informed about basic functions, structure and objectives of the Academy, which is an active and major force in the Finnish research and innovation system.

Academy provides funding of scientific research and promotes the establishment of internationally attractive research environments.

The sides discussed possibilities of collaboration between the Finnish Academy and the State Agency of Ukraine for science, innovation and information as well as establishing of joint projects in science, technology and innovation fields.
