On April 12-14, 2011 the delegation of the General Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine headed by Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Colonel-General Grigory PEDCHENKO paid a visit to Finland.
Colonel-General G. Pedchenko met with his Finnish counterpart, Chief of the Armed Forces of Finland, General Ari Puheloinen.
The Ukrainian delegation visited the Karelian brigade of Eastern Military District, acquainted with the activities of the East-Finnish communications battalion, artillery and air defense system.
Ukrainian side was familiarized with the main aspects of the Finnish security policy, military reform, the international activities of the Armed Forces of Finland, participation in peacekeeping operations and the system of military service.
The delegation of Ukraine commemorated the dead Finnish soldiers laying wreaths at the war memorial in Helsinki.
