April 13-15, 2011 a delegation of the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine headed by the Director of the Department of gas, oil, peat industry and alternative fuel Ivan Kiryushyn.

The delegation met with Minister of Economic Relations of Finland Mauri Pekkarinen. The sides discussed issues of cooperation between Ukraine and Finland in the energy sector, including the possibility of borrowing Finnish experience in using alternative energy sources.

Ukrainian delegation visited the thermal power plants in Jyvaskule and Keuruu and held negotiations with the Association of Finnish peat industry and the International Society of peat.

Also, delegation met with representatives of companies - manufacturers of technologies using alternative fuels and renewable energy.
