On May 22-24, 2011 Director of the Department of gas, oil, peat industry and alternative fuel of the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine Ivan Kiryushyn and General Director of  «Ukrtorf»  Igor Gorobets paid a working visit to Helsinki.

The delegation met with the officials of the Ministry of Employment and Economy of Finland.

Ukrainian side was informed on energy market of Finland, peat industry technologies and experience of the country on the construction and operation of thermal power plants, where the source of their power contains peat and wood.

During the meeting the sides discussed issues of cooperation between Ukraine and Finland in the energy sector, including the possibility of borrowing Finnish experience in using alternative energy sources.
