During her visit to Iceland, Ambassador of Ukraine to Finland and Iceland, Olga Dibrova, held a meeting with Sveinn Sölvason, president of the world-famous Icelandic company Össur, which is one of the global leaders in the production of high-quality orthopedic goods and prostheses.

Since the beginning of Russia's large-scale aggression against Ukraine, the Össur company, with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iceland and the Embassy of Ukraine, has been developing its activities in Ukraine, in particular Lviv, Dnipro, and Kyiv. In addition to supplying prostheses and assisting in the rehabilitation of wounded Ukrainian soldiers, Össur specialists train Ukrainian doctors.

With the assistance of the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Finland and Iceland, the Icelandic Ministry for Foreign Affairs started financing a pilot project to help with prosthetics for wounded servicemen who are in the rehabilitation hospital of Dnipro, which accepts many servicemen from the front line for treatment. The first installment of 65,000 euros for 20 servicemen has already been made.
