The Critical Thinking Lab of the Junior Academy of Sciences of Ukraine within the project "Cultural Studies Salon" held an online meeting for Ukrainian students and teachers with Sofi Oksanen, a well-known Finnish writer, novelist, playwright.

At the meeting, students and teachers learned about her childhood, why the writer focuses on the problems of Central and Eastern Europe and, in particular, Ukraine, about her new novel "The Dog Park", as well as why cultural diplomacy is an effective tool for international communication.

The participants were impressed by Ms. Sofi's humane life philosophy according to which writing talent is a gift and gratitude for it are books that could change the world for the better.

The event was held with the support of the Embassy of Ukraine in Finland.
