The idea of organizing the camp belongs to the wife of the President of Finland Jenni Haukio. Ms. Haukio and the Ambassador of Sweden to Finland, Nikola Klase, were guests of the festive children's concert.
The event was opened by the Ambassador of Ukraine to Finland
Ольга Діброва. She encouraged young Ukrainians to learn the best that is available in Finland - approach to learning, love of reading, healthy lifestyle, closeness to nature - in order to bring the best world experience to Ukraine. The ambassador also asked the schoolchildren to help her in her diplomatic work, namely to represent our country well and make new friends for Ukraine. "Let's learn from someone else's, let's not shy away from our own," said Olga Dibrova.
The aim of the camp was to provide children with a safe environment to spend the summer, learn new things, get to know Finnish culture and the environment in Helsinki.
The camp was organized with the support of the Swedish charitable foundation
Beredskapslyftet,
Denys Gordiyenko and Finnish business partners. A total of 180 participants aged 6-12 attended it in two shifts.
