On April 26, 2022, on the margins of the 76th session of the UN General Assembly in New York, the First Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Emine Dzhaparova met with the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Iceland Þórdís Kolbrún R. Gylfadóttir. 

During the meeting, the parties discussed joint actions in countering russian aggression against Ukraine, including within the UN, the efforts of the international coalition to investigate and prosecute all those involved in crimes against humanity and war crimes in Ukraine committed by the russian occupiers, ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation, as well as practical steps of the Icelandic Government to support the Ukrainian economy.

Emine Dzhaparova expressed gratitude to Þórdís Kolbrún R. Gylfadóttir for her personal firm support and steadfast solidarity of Iceland with the people of Ukraine and the support of our state.
