On January 31, 2024, Ambassador of Ukraine to Finland Olga Dibrova together with the head of the Sumy City Military Administration Oleksiy Drozdenko and the Mayor of Hameenlinna Olli-Poika Parviainen officially launched cooperation between the cities.

From now on, #Sumy and #Hämeenlinna will develop cooperation in the fields of business, education, culture and sports, exchange experience in effective local self-government, promote Ukraine's accession to the #EU, and implement joint projects of a humanitarian nature. The Finnish side emphasized its determination to support Ukraine in the fight against the aggressor.

“This is already the 9th twinning agreement between Ukrainian and Finnish municipalities after the start of the full-scale russian invasion of Ukraine. The embassy will continue to make efforts to deepen an important and mutually beneficial directionof bilateral cooperation between Ukraine and Finland - interregional cooperation," said Olga Dibrova.
