Two discussions devoted to Ukraine took place within the framework of the forum. The organizers were the European Forum and the Committee of the EU Regions.
Ambassador of Ukraine
Ольга Діброва expressed gratitude to Finland for its support and important assistance to Ukraine; informed about the current security situation and the advancement of Ukraine to the EU, emphasized the importance of increasing sanctions pressure on the aggressor country and called for participation in the post-war reconstruction and modernization of Ukraine. Special emphasis was placed on the establishment of cooperation at the municipal level.
We are grateful to the Czech Presidency of the EU for its strong support for Ukraine and understanding of the importance of Ukraine's victory for the future of Europe.
The European Forum in Turku is an event to discuss the future of Finland and Europe. The event promotes an open, scientifically based dialogue between citizens and politicians. The European Forum brings together people from different walks of life: politicians, non-governmental organizations, representatives of the business community, labor market organizations, experts and citizens.
The theme of this year's European Forum was the role of Finland and the EU as part of the changing international order. Issues of foreign and security policy, economy and energy were discussed.
Among the speakers of the forum were: Prime Minister Sanna Marin, Minister of Foreign Affairs Pekka Haavisto, Minister of Defense Antti Kaikkonen, politicians, ambassadors of foreign countries, mayors, scientists.
