Martti Ahtisaari is a distinguished diplomat and peacemaker, whose work was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2008 "for his important efforts in the resolution of international conflicts on several continents for more than three decades."

Ambassador Olga Dibrova noted that President Ahtisaari's contribution to the peace settlement is especially valuable now, when Ukraine is fighting for peace in Europe.
