On April 10, 2012 in the Parliament of Finland the Ambassador of Ukraine A.Deschytsia met with members of the newly formed the Ukraine Friendship Group.

The meeting was attended by the Chair of the Friendship Group C.Gestrin (Swedish People's Party, a member of the Committee on the Environment), K.Sasi (National Coalition Party, Chairman of the Committee on Finance) E.Naucler (MP from the Åland Islands , a member of the Committee on Constitutional Law), P.Mattila (Finns Party, a member of the Administrative Committee), J.Väätäinen (Finns Party, a member of the Committee on the Environment).

During the meeting the Ambassador informed the Finnish parliamentarians on the political situation in Ukraine, including the preparation for the forthcoming parliamentary elections in Ukraine, inviting international observers to monitor the election process and the political landscape on the eve of parliamentary elections.

The Ambassador briefed the Group on foreign policy priorities of Ukraine, the main goals and achievements in the context of European integration inter alia the initialing Association Agreement and the implementation of the Action Plan on visa-free regime with Ukraine.
