The Ambassador of Ukraine in Finland Olga Dibrova, the Head of Cultural Promotion of the Helsinki city Veikko Kunnas and the Chairman of the Board of Ukrainian Association in Finland Vasyl Goutsoul addressed the audience with welcoming speeches.
The concert was attended by ambassadors and members of the diplomatic corps accredited in Finland, Finnish citizens, representatives of the Ukrainian community and Ukrainians who have received temporary shelter in Finland.
At the beginning of the concert, the musicians spoke about the war in Ukraine, their hometown Kharkiv, which was destroyed by the russian occupiers, and thanked Finland and all people of good will for their invaluable support of Ukraine and the Ukrainian people.
During the evening, the orchestra conducted by maestro Denys Doroshenko enchanted the audience with original symphonic interpretations of legendary world rock hits.
The world-famous "Shchedryk" and the anthem of the Ukrainian Sich Riflemen " Oh, the Red Viburnum in the Meadow" by the Prime Orchestra became the highlight of the charity concert.
The funds raised during the concert will go to support the musicians' hometown - Kharkiv.
The orchestra's performance was made possible with the support of UNESCO - Creative Cities Network, the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
