On July 12, 2022, within the framework of the "Ukrainian bookshelf" project, which is implemented under the patronage of the First Lady of Ukraine
Олена Зеленська, the Ambassador of Ukraine to Finland
Ольга Діброва opened and handed over books in Ukrainian and books about Ukraine in English to the Oodi Central Library in Helsinki.
From now on, those who want to read in their native language, or those who want to start learning Ukrainian as a foreign language, can order selected literature from one of the Helmet network libraries, the pearl of which is the Oodi library cultural and educational center. Our forcibly resettled citizens or compatriots living on the territory of Finland and everyone interested have the opportunity to come to the center and have a good time, immersing themselves in Ukrainian culture through a Ukrainian book.
The donated books are intended for children of different ages and adults. These are fairy tales and books of the artistic genre, scientific literature.
Ukrainian Association in Finland also contributed to the replenishment of the Ukrainian collection, in particular books by Finnish and Swedish-speaking Finnish authors translated into Ukrainian.
The grand opening was attended by the director of the Oodi library Anna-Maria Soininvaara, journalist and board member of the
Ukrainian Association in Finland Natalia Dmytrenkо.
We invite you and your friends to visit the "Ukrainian Bookshelf"!
