Submit your project to the Lysiak-Rudnytsky Ukrainian Studies Programme
02 July 2020 11:45

The Lysiak-Rudnytsky Ukrainian Studies is a long-term programme of the Ukrainian Institute devoted to Ukrainian Studies. The Programme is designed to enhance the study and understanding of Ukraine's past and present abroad.

It welcomes projects in Ukrainian studies from cultural, educational, and research centers and institutions in Europe and North America. This year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the sequestration of Ukraine's state budget, the Ukrainian Institute is announcing the Programme later than planned, but we hope that we will still be able to support shortterm projects or projects that are in the final stages of implementation.

The selected projects will be financed and supported from the state budget of Ukraine following the relevant procurement procedures by concluding a bilingual (Ukrainian and English) service agreement between the Ukrainian Institute and the selected applicant in accordance with the Ukrainian legislation in the form provided by the Ukrainian Institute.

The project must be implemented by 30 November 2020. The budget of the project is a maximum of 10,000 euros (or UAH 300,000). Projects of a highly relevance that exceed the budget estimate can be considered by the Ukrainian Institute on a case-by-case basis.

Budgets of the projects that won the competition will be commented on before signing the contract in order to determine the validity of costs of the services and their compliance with Ukrainian budget legislation. Payment will be made after the services are provided. The pre-payment may be considered on exclusive basis stemming from a particular project’s needs.

The thematic focus of the Programme in 2020 are:

• historical figures from Ukraine and their legacy;

• monumental heritage and art of the Soviet period in Ukraine;

• crimes by totalitarian regimes in Ukraine in culture and memory;

• Ukraine in the early 20th century;

• Ukrainian culture (within the period of the second half of the 20th century to the beginning of the 21st century);

• Ukrainian architecture and urban planning (within the period of the 20th century to the beginning of the 21st century).
