On November 2, 2022, the annual forum #NordicWomenMediators started with the participation of more than 50 experts with valuable experience in the field of peacebuilding and security in Europe and beyond.

This year, special attention is paid to Ukraine: finding ways to counter the ongoing #russianaggression, stopping war crimes committed by the russian army, and supporting Ukrainian civil society. #NWM also discusses the role of women in peacemaking.

Ambassador of Ukraine to Finland Ольга Діброва spoke at the forum.

Ambassador: “We face a great dilemma of choosing the right path of securing peace, prosperity and sustainability in the midst of the war between imperialism of XIX century and the community of democracies of the XXI century. First of all we need to overcome the imperialistic agony and brutal crimes by the terrorist state, which has undermined all possible rules and norms of international coexisting. Ukrainians will win this war. We have today tremendous unity in Ukraine, in Europe and in the world. And, the role of women cannot be overestimated. Every day Ukrainian women are example of devotion, patriotism and courage.”

Among the participants of the forum are politicians, the diplomatic and scientific community, business leaders.

The event is organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland Ulkoministeriö - utrikesministeriet in partnership with CMI - Martti Ahtisaari Peace Foundation.
