"Municipalities are one of the most effective engines of bilateral cooperation" - Ambassador of Ukraine to Finland Olga Dibrova
Today, in online format, the city of Nizhyn of the Chernihiv region and the city of Imatra of the South Karelia region
Etelä-Karjalan maakunta signed the Cooperation Agreement. The partnership was formed at the initiative of the Embassy of Ukraine in Finland.
Ambassador of Ukraine to Finland
Ольга Діброва congratulated the mayors of the cities Oleksandr Kodola and Matias Hilden and their teams on the start of mutually beneficial cooperation.
“Finland supported Ukraine with all its heart and practical steps in the fight against the full-scale aggression of the russian federation. The Finnish people, having a similar historical experience due to the attack of the USSR on Finland in 1939, strives to continue helping our country until complete victory. Municipalities are people. That is why municipalities have become one of the most effective engines of bilateral cooperation," said Olga Dibrova.
Ambassador Dibrova thanked the Finnish city
Imatran kaupunki for the bright events in support of Ukraine - the organization of Jamala's concert, dedicated to the Ukrainian theme of the traditional
Black and White Theatre Festival, the daily performance of the National Anthem of Ukraine at the city's largest tourist attraction during the August, the touching celebration of the Independence Day of Ukraine, the care for Ukrainian citizens that found temporary protection in Finland, and many, many fantastic highlights in blue and yellow.
Imatra, which is located a few kilometers from the Finnish-russian border, wants to once again emphasize its constant support for Ukraine and plans to transfer targeted humanitarian aid to its new
#twincity Nizhyn in the near future.
The cities plan to cooperate in the areas of economic and regional development, agriculture, education, ecology and rational use of natural resources.
We sincerely congratulate Nizhyn and Imatra!
