On November 3, 2021, marks the 70th anniversary of the opening of the
Mannerheim-museo - the home of Baron G. Mannerheim, Finnish military leader, Marshal, and President of Finland.
For many years and decades, the museum preserved Mannerheim’s home for posterity, allowing today the public to admire its original state and discover exhibits objects related to the unique life story of the Marshal and the history of Finland.
Marshal Mannerheim is an extraordinary and legendary figure highly respected and admired not only in Finland, but also worldwide.
G.Mannerheim, who had close friendly ties with Hetman of Ukraine Pavlo Skoropadskyi (1918), holds a very special place in the history of our country.
Today as never before, Mannerheim’s life and career fascinate and inspire millions of Ukrainians in their struggle for independence and freedom. His example has proved that only a united nation, even a small one, is able to withstand unprecedented pressure and overcome the worst challenges that fate can bring.
I heartedly congratulate the team of the museum on this date and wish the museum new interesting projects, impassioned visitors and prosperity! I also express my gratitude for the support of our social media project on raising public awareness about the Mannerheim ties with Ukraine, which we are about to launch today, and looking forward to implementing new ones.
Happy 70th Anniversary!
With best regards,
Ambassador of Ukraine in Finland
