On September 13, 2021, Chargé d'affaires ad interim of Ukraine in the Republic of Finland Maksym Kravchuk met with the Apostolic Exarch for Ukrainian Greek Catholics in Germany and Scandinavia Bishop Bohdan Dzyurakh and the pastor for Ukrainian Greek Catholics in Estonia and Finland Fr. Roman Kikh.

Diplomats of the Embassy of Ukraine Daniil Kononenko and Viktoriia Kononchuk, as well as a representative of the Ukrainian community in Finland Denis Pertsev also took part in the meeting.

During the meeting, the leading role of the church in the spiritual unity of the Ukrainian nation and strengthening of the national identity of foreign Ukrainians, promising areas for the implementation of projects in the cultural, educational and social spheres were discussed. There was also an exchange of views on ways of cooperation in providing assistance to Ukrainian citizens living on the territory of Finland.

The interlocutors paid special attention to the coordination of actions in the dissemination of information in Finland about the Holodomor of 1932-1933 in Ukraine.
