On May 18, 2022 Ambassador of Ukraine in Finland Olga Dibrova spoke to the Icelandic MPs on the occasion of a visit of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Icelandic Parliament, Alþingi to Finland.
Ambassador Dibrova informed about the current security situation in Ukraine, threats to global food security caused by russian aggression and highlighted the main solutions needed to stop russia’s atrocities in Ukraine:

further increase of economic and political pressure on russia;

supply of heavy weapons to Ukraine;

creation of all necessary conditions to bring all responsible for russia’s war crimes in Ukraine to justice.
Ambassador Olga Dibrova expressed gratitude for Iceland’s strong solidarity and continued support of Ukraine, valuable humanitarian and financial assistance, as well as Icelandic hospitality for Ukrainians, who were forced to leave their homes.
She underlined the importance of further cooperation on rebuilding of Ukraine, particularly in the area of energy efficiency.
