On March 16, 2022, the Ambassador of Ukraine in Finland Olga Dibrova met with the Prime Minister of Finland Sanna Marin.

Olga Dibrova expressed her sincere gratitude to the Finnish government for the strong support of Ukraine, which can be felt everywhere - from political decisions, military assistance, medical and humanitarian aid, Finland's leadership in sanction policy against the Russian aggressor, to the support for Ukrainian asylum seekers arriving in Finland.

The Ambassador of Ukraine informed about the current situation in Ukraine, in particular the numerous atrocities of the Russian occupiers, the courageous struggle of the Ukrainian people.

"The plan of the invaders to conquer Ukraine in two-three days failed. In desperation, they resort to non-covered terror against the peaceful civil population of Ukraine. These are terrible war crimes not only against our people, but also an open war against democracy around the world. And the world must respond accordingly, " - the Ambassador mentioned.

The Ambassador of Ukraine noted the critical importance of stopping doing business with Russia, continuing to tighten sanctions against the Russian economy without exception, to deprive the aggressor of sources of income to finance the war, including a full embargo on energy supplies, blocking Russian oligarchs' assets and other measures.

According to Olga Dibrova, only by uniting the efforts of the world community we will be able to resist the Russian invasion, defend European values and prevail.

The Prime Minister of Finland Sanna Marin reassured that Finland will continue its firm and resolute support of Ukrainians, noting that the Finnish people stand in solidarity with Ukraine as never before. Finns feel that the Ukrainian people are waging a liberation war for the freedom and independence of their country, just as Finland once waged it during the Winter War.
