Ambassador of Ukraine to Finland Ольга Діброва paid a working visit to the Åland Islands - an autonomous territory under Finnish sovereignty

During the trip, Ambassador:
-
addressed the Parliament of the Åland Islands;

held meetings with the Speaker of the Parliament Bert Hegblom and his deputies, the head of the Government of the Åland Islands, Veronica Thörnroos, and the representative of the central government, Peter Lindbeck;

met with Ukrainians who received temporary protection in Finland and live on the Åland Islands;
-
visited a school where Ukrainian children study and talked with them;
-
held a meeting with the management of Optinova - one of the leading businesses on the islands.
Ukraine feels the strong and unwavering support of the residents of the autonomous region: they hold daily protests with Ukrainian flags near the russian consulate in the capital - Marienhamn, regularly send humanitarian aid, and have provided protection to about 300 citizens of Ukraine.
“We rely on the solidarity of all Åland residents and your contribution to the defense of peace, human rights and the rules-based international order. Thank you for your support of all the initiatives and collective actions of the countries of Northern Europe," said Olga Dibrova.
