As part of an active dialogue, they discussed directions for effective cooperation between the Embassy and Ukrainian organizations in Finland, ways to unite efforts to support Ukraine in its fight against the Russian aggressor and in the reconstruction of our state, the preservation of Ukrainian identity abroad, challenges faced by Ukrainians in Finland, as well as opportunities and ways to address them.
Special attention was given to strengthening assistance to Ukrainian defenders and Ukrainian society, as well as to promoting Ukrainian culture and history in Finland and ensuring regular coverage of the situation and events in Ukraine in Finnish media.
They discussed expanding and supporting Ukrainian Saturday schools, in particular the delivery of Ukrainian books and textbooks.
During the event, Ukrainians from different regions of Finland had the opportunity to exchange experiences of their work in the country and establish cooperation with each other.
Plans for events dedicated to Ukraine’s Independence Day in Helsinki and other Finnish cities were coordinated.
Ambassador Mykhailo Vydoinyk also presented a Letter of Appreciation from Ukraine’s Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, Andriy Sybiha, to Andriy Korban, Director of the International Ukrainian Cultural Center in Finland, for his contribution to uniting Ukrainians in Finland, preserving national identity, and promoting Ukraine abroad.
It was agreed to hold regular coordination meetings of representatives of Ukrainian organizations in Finland and to develop a dedicated format to improve cooperation.
