The main topics of the negotiations were the establishment of cooperation, in particular, the establishment of sisterly ties with the Ukrainian city, interaction regarding the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine, and the implementation of social, cultural and tourist projects.

Imatran kaupunki for their solidarity and support for Ukraine, as well as for the warm welcome and creation of good conditions for Ukrainians seeking temporary protection.
Ольга Діброва emphasized the special importance of South Karelia for Ukrainians, because the Karelian region is known for its occupation by the USSR and the problem of refugees.
