In December 3-4, 2012 a Ukrainian official delegation headed by the Deputy Minister for Economic Development and Trade – Head of Staff Mr. Volodymyr Pavlenko paid a working visit to the Republic of Finland.
The Ukrainian delegation took part at the 6th Meeting of the Finnish-Ukrainian Intergovernmental Commission of Trade and Economic Cooperation (December 3, 2012). The Finnish Delegation was headed by Mr. Esko Hamilo, Under-Secretary of State, Ministry for Foreign Affairs.
During the Meeting the both sides examined a large number of issues of mutual interest related to the current state of play of bilateral trade and economic relations. They also exchanged views on economic situation in Ukraine, Finland and the EU in general.
The sides signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the Authority of the State Service for Special Communication and Information Protection of Ukraine and the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Finland on cooperation in the field of telecommunications.
The outcomes of the discussions were set up in the final Protocol of the 6th Economic Commission Meeting.
While its stay in Finland the Ukrainian Delegation also conducted a number of bilateral talks, namely with senior staff of the Finnish Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Ministry for Employment and Economy and Tourist Bureau. It also had a meeting with the senior managers of NEFCO – one of the leading Nordic financial institutions.
