The Symposium was developed around the idea of bringing together the expertise on Ukraine and enhancing the network around the field of Ukrainian studies. The event aroused discussion on the advancement of teaching, research and expertise of Ukraine in Finland.

The underlying theme was to have a fresh outlook on Ukrainian studies, both as a field of research and as a taught subject. The scientific panel had a special focus on the “Chornobyl Syndrome” in nuclear fiction. It was followed by a panel conversation with a more practical aim to develop the study field and to have insights for future.
