On August 27, 2016, a cultural and humanitarian event took place at the Embassy dedicated to 25^th anniversary of Ukraine's independence and the jubilee of a genius Ukrainian poet and writer Ivan Franko. The event, hosted by the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Finland, Association of Ukrainians in Finland and Suomi-Ukraina silta, was attended by the members of the Ukrainian community in Finland, representatives of Finnish society, journalists.

The audience watched a classic Ukrainian film 'The Lost Petition' (1972) directed by Borys Ivchenko. After the movie, a Skype-conference with Fedir Stryhun, a star of the film, was held. The actor shared unique memories about 'The Lost Petition'. 

During another Skype-conference, front-man of the famous Ukrainian rock band Okean Elzy Svyatoslav Vakarchuk spoke about creation of his songs, creative plans and musical preferences. The concert of the band Okean Elzy in Helsinki scheduled for 15 October, 2016.
