On November 8, 2015, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin had a meeting with the Ukrainian community in Finland within the framework of his working visit to Helsinki.
The Minister expressed his gratitude for the proactive position, support and volunteer activities of the Ukrainian community in Finland. In particular, Pavlo Klimkin thanked the Community for sending humanitarian aid to Ukraine.
Taking into account continuing Russian aggression against Ukraine and the need to resist the Russian propaganda, the Minister emphasized the importance of representative role of Ukrainian community abroad, importance to inform foreign societies on the actual developments in Ukraine, as well as to promote Ukrainian culture and traditions.
The participants of the meeting have also discussed perspectives of further cooperation between the MFA of Ukraine and the Diaspora organizations and foundations aimed at meeting cultural and spiritual needs of Ukrainians abroad.
