President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has held a phone conversation with President of Finland Sauli Niinistö.

The President of Ukraine has congratulated the President of Finland on the formation of a new Government. President Niinisto has assured that the new Finnish Government would keep on upholding Ukraine’s sovereignty, the Minsk process and sanctions against Russia for non-compliance with the Minsk agreements.

The parties have coordinated their positions on the eve of the Finnish President’s visit to Kazakhstan and agreed on further coordination.

Petro Poroshenko has informed on the escalation of the situation in Donbas and emphasized the importance of the EU countries’ unity for Ukraine in this context.

The interlocutors have also discussed the issue of sending the peacekeeping mission to Donbas.

The Presidents have highlighted the importance of compliance with the principles of the Helsinki Final Act, the 40^th anniversary of which will be marked this summer.
