Press release
The Finnish Ministry of the Interior has decided to send to Ukraine movable tents suitable for winter conditions. They can be used as a field hospital, support for the delivery of humanitarian aid or accommodation for aid workers.
The tents are sent as a response to a request for assistance addressed to the EU by Ukrainian authorities. The European Commission will coordinate the logistics of the assistance and ensure that it reaches its destination in Ukraine.
- With this decision, we want to take part in providing humanitarian relief to Ukraine. In my view, it is extremely important to make absolutely sure that the assistance reaches the civilian population, says Minister of the Interior Päivi Räsänen.
