On April, 21, 2014 a regular meeting in the format of daily coordination consultation with the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission with the participation of representatives of Geneva meeting of 17 April 2014 – European Union, Russian Federation and the United States – as well as of the Swiss OSCE Chairmanship, took place in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine. This format was initiated by MFA of Ukraine on 18 April, 2014.
Acting Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Deshchytsia and the Chief Monitor of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission in Ukraine Ertugrul Apakan informed the meeting about the steps that had been taken by both the Ukrainian side and the OSCE Mission towards the implementation of the Geneva accords. The parties discussed the state of implementation of measures agreed upon during the previous meetings. The importance of reinforcement by actions from all Geneva parties of their commitments undertaken on 17 April 2014 in order to de-escalate the situation was underlined.
Representatives of the Ministry of Interior of Ukraine and of the Security Service of Ukraine were invited to today’s meeting. They briefed the participants and answered their questions.
